  1. कथानक: गाँव का गरीब लड़का रामू डॉक्टर बनना चाहता था, पर पिता के पास फ़ीस नहीं थी। लोग हँसते थे, पर रामू दिन में खेत में काम करता और रात को लालटेन में पढ़ता। शिक्षक ने उसकी लगन देखकर किताबें दीं और छात्रवृत्ति के लिए तैयारी करवाई।

  2. रामू ने प्रवेश-परीक्षा में अच्छा स्थान पाया और छात्रवृत्ति से मेडिकल कॉलेज पहुँचा। वर्षों बाद वह उसी गाँव में अस्पताल खोलकर सेवा करने लगा।
