Hint 1

How did Anil treat Hari when he knew he was a thief?

Hint 2

What did Anil teach him?

Hint 3

What did Hari decide at the end?

Step-by-step solution

Each step shows the marks it earns, as an examiner would award them. Checked by an independent re-solve from the question paper.

  1. Content: Anil trusted Hari Singh and gave him a job, even though he knew Hari had lied to him. He was kind to him, taught him to write his name and to cook, and encouraged him to study. When Hari tried to steal Anil's money, Anil's trust and compassion made him stop and he could not go through with it. Anil did not hand him to the police, and the boy was changed. Hari left the old life of theft and decided to study. This shows that trust and kindness can reform a person.
