Step-by-step solution

Each step shows the marks it earns, as an examiner would award them. Checked by an independent re-solve from the question paper.

  2. (b) Mrs. Pumphrey made excuses to avoid following the advice: the gardener was ill, so Tricki could not be exercised. She said Tricki loved chocolates and cream cakes, so she could not refuse him. Seeing him weak, she also fed him more food.

  3. (c) Ebright learnt that science is not about neat displays or winning prizes. It is about innovation, curiosity and experimentation. His real learning came from his own work.
