Content: The Buddha told Kisa Gotami that life is full of sorrow and death is unavoidable. Like ripe fruits that fall early, all mortals are always in danger of death. Nobody, not even loved ones, can save anyone from death. Weeping and lamenting cannot bring the dead back, and the whole world is afflicted with death and decay. Kisa Gotami learnt to accept death as the law of nature, to let go of her grief, and to be compassionate towards others who suffer. She understood that she was not alone in her loss.
