Hints

Open one hint at a time and try again before the next.

Hint 1

Who is the job seeker asking for help?

Hint 2

Is a referred candidate's background known or unknown?

Step-by-step solution

Each step shows the marks it earns, as an examiner would award them. Checked by an independent re-solve from the question paper.

  1. The picture shows a person asking existing employees to refer him for a job: recommendations of employees, an external source. A, B and D are correct statements about external sources (qualified people, discontent among existing staff, wider choice).

  2. Statement (C) is incorrect: with employee recommendations the candidate's background is in fact reasonably well known, which is the merit of this source. Option (C).

    1 mark

Answer: (C) Such employees are not likely to be good employees as their background is not sufficiently known.

Where the marks are

  • Background of referred candidates is known (1 mark)
