Hints

Open one hint at a time and try again before the next.

Hint 1

Old partners together keep 4/5 of the profits.

Hint 2

Find the whole firm's capital first.

Step-by-step solution

Each step shows the marks it earns, as an examiner would award them. Checked by an independent re-solve from the question paper.

  1. Adjusted capitals of Soni and Kush = 7,00,000 + 13,00,000 = ₹ 20,00,000 for their combined 4/5 share. Total capital = 20,00,000 × 5/4 = ₹ 25,00,000.

  2. Hitesh's capital = 25,00,000 × 1/5 = ₹ 5,00,000. Option (C).
