A deck has 26 red and 26 black cards, with 4 suits of 13 cards each.
Hint 2
Count the favourable cards in each case and divide by 52.
Step-by-step solution

- 1 mark
Total possible outcomes = 52. (i) There are 2 red kings (hearts and diamonds), so .
- 1 mark
(ii) The cards that are not black are the 26 red cards, so .
- 1 mark
(iii) There is 1 ace of hearts, so .
Answer: (i) 1/26; (ii) 1/2; (iii) 1/52
Where the marks are
- P(red king) = 2/52 = 1/26 (1 mark)
- P(not black) = 26/52 = 1/2 (1 mark)
- P(ace of hearts) = 1/52 (1 mark)
